One of my favorite bloggers, Jordan (Oh Happy Day!), posted a DIY tutorial over on Project Wedding. I'd recommend checking out both of these sites for inspiration on party planning & such.

Wouldn't these make great favors for a small wedding or a shower?

I just like the process of assembling little trinkets!

Amy and Rob

The rain held off, and the sun was bright for Amy & Rob's sweet wedding ceremony yesterday at Pat's Peak in Henniker, New Hampshire.

Amy's dad walked her down the aisle and carefully over the foot bridge....some guests enjoyed the ceremony from the balcony.

Rob carefully taped his wedding vows to the ground (he even covered it with plastic to make sure if the rain came he could still say the words he wrote for Amy).

A special moment for the newlyweds, immediately following the ceremony.

After the showers, an incredible rainbow was seen from the deck patio.

The cake toppers were Amy's grandparents...guests were treated to potted plants for centerpieces...a special locket on Amy's flowers...

A live band played for their first dance as husband and wife. Congratulations Amy & Rob!

Just because....I was getting ready for Mikayla's baby shoot...and thought I'd take some of a monkey's beloved monkey. The paper in the background is Martha Stewart wrapping paper. I've had it for ages and haven't been able to decide what to do with it. At least I unwrapped it for this shoot!

Little Miss Mikayla really wanted ALL of her photos to have her blue pacifier, but her mom & I were able to trick her :0) At 7 weeks old she weighs 8 pounds (she came a little bit early) and her little feet are so tiny! It's amazing how quickly I forget that Marcus was once this little!

I've known her new momma since the 7th grade & in 8th grade we got in trouble in Home Ec. for putting 3 times too many blueberries in our muffins with Arinn (Happy Birthday Arinn!)

I have been taking an amazing e-course with Holly from one of my favorite blogs, Decor8 (check out the details here: http://www.decor8blog.com/eclasses/)...

Thanks to the help of my inspiring and creative classmates there will be some major changes happening here in the next few weeks. The entire blog will be getting a Spring make-over...one that I think I need myself,too! That said, something that I'd like to introduce here are The Hitching Posts, which I will post weekly on Mondays. The Hitching Posts will be a new source for brides (and everyone else that is equally as obsessed with weddings)....I'll be sharing unique ideas and vendors that I've found on Esty and other inspiring places.

First up is Layer Cake Films and their incredibly hip Cake-in-a-Box Super 8 Film rental. The concept is that you rent the vintage Super 8 camera, have a friend film your event, and then ship it back for them to process and edit. Pretty groovy, huh? If I could do ONE thing over on my wedding day, this would be it. Okay, I lied, I'd also wear a vintage net hairpiece....For all my readers that are already hitched- if you could do ONE thing over again on your wedding day, what would it be?

This will be our third summer in Landaff (hard to believe, right?) Our first year here my Gram had given us a lilac bush from her home, which my nice cousins carefully dug up and transplanted. She lives right next to my side porch, so I can see her every time I pass in and out of the house. She has had buds on her for the past few weeks, but it looks like they are just begging for more sun and warmth so they can wake up from their long winter slumber.

Aubrey & Jesse were married yesterday at the Castle in Clouds, in Moultonborough, NH. It has been several years since the Castle has hosted a winter wedding & they brought it back in style. It was truly a winter-wonderland yesterday & in spite of all the snow (and there was a lot!) the guests arrived & the wedding was beautiful. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Clark!

Annika & Trevor were blessed with another amazingly beautiful day at the Castle in the Clouds. Wild flowers, a Guinness toast, cigars on the patio, cupcakes, a special secret, and poems made this day incredibly special. I was introduced to the concept of "Anam 'Cara" and I'll quote a part of their program:

Anam 'Cara...In the Celtic tradition, there is a beautiful understanding of love and friendship. One of the fascinating ideas here is the idea of soul-love; the old gaelic term for this is Anam 'Cara. Anam is the Gaelic word for soul and 'Cara is the word for friend. So Anam 'Cara in the Celtic world was the "Soul Friend." - John O'Donohue.

Introducing Marcus (4 days old)

Marcus Benedict Hamilton.
Born: 7/10/08
7 lbs. 10 oz. and 20 inches long.
After being in and out of pre-term & term labor for 2 full weeks, it was decided that he needed to come into the world via C-Section a few weeks early. Even though he was 37 weeks, he was a big guy!

On a Rodeo & Co. note- I will be returning calls and emails in just a few more days- I know some of you are anxious to hear about updates on your photos- but I've had bed rest & now a beautiful little boy to look at & take care of.

Amanda & Chris were married yestersday at St. Micheal's Catholic Church in Exeter, New Hampshire. Afterwards, we went to Prescott Park in the historical district of Portsmouth for pictures. The reception was held at the Sheridan Harborside, also in Portsmouth.
While we were taking photos in the park, there was another ceremony taking place & there was a musical in the park. All of the little girls were lined up on the fence to see Amanda, who looked like a fairy-tale bride.

Melissa, owner of the Maia Papaya, was another one of this year's Women & Co. Boost Award winners with WREN. The Maia Papaya happens to be my favorite coffee shop & Melissa makes delicious salads, wraps, smoothies and yummy treats (all organic!). If you haven't been there yet, you really need to make a trip to Bethlehem, NH- she is right next to the Post Office.

Mary & Bill were married at the Bishop Farm B&B in Lisbon, NH. (Which used to be a part of Bill's family...in fact, his parents were married on the farm too!). The evening ceremony concluded with all guests circling the bride & groom with candles. After a display of fireworks the dancing began. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Martin!

Ben's family worked on scraping and painting the outside of the old church to have it ready in time for their wedding. Herbalist Heidi Herzberger, owner of Heidi's Plant Pep in Gilmanton, New Hampshire recently won a Women & Co. Boost Award from WREN. This year I am fortunate to photograph all of the winners, and Heidi was my first. Heidi has recently started making tea..and painstakingly irons the bags after she fills them by hand...I had a great time watching Heidi in her studio and in her garden. Congratulations!

Today my little brother-in-law Andy (as opposed to my big brother-in-law Andy- and I only have 2 brother-in-laws!) is getting married to the smart & beautiful Maria in Sofia, Bulgaria. We are so sad that we can't attend their ceremony today & are anxious to see the photos. Luckily, they will be having a ceremony here in the States when they move here.

Martha's Cookie of the Day

Crunchy Chocolate Treats! Yum.

Ingredients
Makes 2 dozen
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
6 cups rice cereal
3/4 cup peanut-butter chips
Directions
1. In a large, deep saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces, over low heat, about 4 minutes. Add 1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows; cook, stirring, until melted, 6 to 8 minutes.
2. Add 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped; cook, stirring, until melted, 2 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Quickly fold in 6 cups rice cereal and 3/4 cup peanut-butter chips until evenly distributed.
3. Coat a 1/4-cup dry measuring cup with nonstick cooking spray; scoop mixture onto waxed paper, forming clusters. Let set, about 10 minutes. Store in an airtight container for up to several days.

The other day I spent some time with Sheelah MacKillop, owner of SDI Signs, and her family. Sheelah was a WREN Women & Co. winner from last year- but schedules did not allow us to connect for her photos shoot. Her kids help her out doing various tasks- and her 6 year old son loves to hang out in the trucks while his mom paints!

Anne Marie & Robert enjoyed an April wedding (minus the impending showers!) on Sunday, April 13th. I have never been to a Catholic wedding that was as humorous and engaging as theirs. The relaxing reception was held at Clay Hill Farm in Ogunquit, Maine.

Michelle & Paul were married this past Saturday at the Mountain View Grand. After an intimate wedding, the guests mingled in the wine-cellar & then enjoyed a delicious dinner.

On Thursday I met up with the very talented Alli Gaulin & she took these amazing photos of me & the belly bump. They are a surprise for my husband- so I'm looking forward to seeing the rest in a few weeks & then can pick some out for his birthday (these were are a sneek peek from her blog!). It was a strange feeling to be on the other side of the lens...but in the end it paid off :0) Thanks Alli!!!!

Maternity Session

On Thursday (shhh...don't tell my husband) I'm having a maternity session with the very talented Alli Gaulin of Vison Photography in Littleton, NH. I'm starting to panic because I HATE being on the other side of the lens! What was I thinking?!? But I found these photos to be inspiring...so I'm hoping we can pull something like this off... (all these photos are from super cool photographers over at The Image Is Found)

But maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to eat MORE icecream?

Kathleen & Scott eloped yesterday at the breath-taking Mount View Grand....it was a fabulous day...we woke up to rain...but by the time their quiet ceremony rolled around the skies had cleared. We had access to everything the Mt. View Grand has to offer- so we went to the wine cellar, the bar, the library, the ballroom, and even the movie theater!

I am really loving the new Eileen Fisher bedding at Garnet Hill- especially the pintuck pattern on the duvet cover. This color palette is what I have in mind for our new master bedroom, nice and calm. (The rest of the house is very bold and daring...so one room that isn't so over powering might be nice!)

Lil' Miss Bunny....

Lately I've found loads of inspiring blogs out there on the web and I was really taken by Seedpod's "Still Life Project." I recently built a light box ( you can find super-duper easy directions here) & have been playing around with it. Seedpod's rules were to use one object out of every daily photo to carry on into the next photos. However, looking at my collection of stuff I might be hard-pressed to that & make any type of logical sense. In a nutshell, my goal is to post a photo-a-day for the month of April with pictures from my lightbox and around the house...so I'm calling my project the Everyday Life Project.
